Arsonists start two fires only yards apart

ARSONISTS started two fires within a short distance of each other at Warrington last night.
Two fire engines, one from Stockton Heath and the other from Birchwood were called to Radley Common in Radley Lane, Orford.
An industrial wheelie bin was found ablaze and crews used a hosereel jet to extinguish the flames
Another fire was then discovered involving a nearby play area. This blaze was also extinguished.
Both fires were believed to have been started deliberately. Crews were at the scene for nearly half an hour.

In another incident, an electricity box in the porch of a house m Knutsford Road, Latchford caught fire.
Firefighters used a dry powder extinguisher to deal with the fire and monitored the situation until a Scottish Power engineer reached the scene.
