Cine and video society present annual film show

WARRINGTON Cine and Video Society present their annual film and video show on Saturday, February 22 at St Martin’s Methodist Church Hall, Gig Lane, Woolston.
The society is one of the oldest cine and video societies in the North West and was founded in 1936.
Over the years it has made many unique films which have captured for posterity events which are now part of Warrington’s history and it has a large archive of these films
One film – originally shot in colour on 16mm film in 1953 – was of celebrations in Stockton Heath on the occasion of the Queen’s coronation. It has been shown on television several times.
But Saturday’s show will focus more on the films society members have made in the last 12 months.
Admission to the show is £5, including refreshments and the doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
