WARRINGTON Town have paid tribute to Jordan Sinnott, the Matlock Town footballer who died last weekend.

Sinnott, 25, played against the Yellows for the Gladiators back in October, but died on Saturday evening after he was the victim of an assault on Friday night. Two men have since been charged with manslaughter.

A campaign has since been launched in memory of the midfielder, who was on loan from Alfreton Town and was a former Huddersfield Town trainee, with clubs from across the globe sending shirts with “SINNOTT 25” on the back.

Clubs have included European champions Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and even Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.

A minute’s applause will be held prior to Warrington Town’s next game, away at Lancaster City on Saturday.
