Daughter’s emotional plea to help find dad’s killer as police seek missing watch

A daughter has made an emotional appeal to help find her dad’s killer as detectives investigating the murder of Warrington man Mark Bradbury released a photo of his watch, which has been missing since his death.

Mark Bradbury wore a Citizen Eco-Drive watch which police believe the killer may have taken with them after committing the murder.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the watch, bought or been offered it.

Mark was last seen at 5pm on Thursday 1 August near his home on Station Road South but was found murdered at his address three days later having suffered significant head injuries.

Detective Inspector Sarah Oliver, who is leading the investigation, said: “Mark would wear the watch regularly and I’m keen to find out what happened to it as it has not been seen or recovered since he died.

“I believe somebody out there knows where it is. Perhaps it has been disposed of or been sold to you – if you see the watch or believe you know where it is, I want to hear from you.

“Our investigation has been continuing with a number of lines of enquiry being followed. I now want to take this opportunity to further prompt people who haven’t yet got in touch to contact us.

“We believe that Mark had regular visitors to his house and I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has information about them and the vehicles they were using in the weeks running up to his death.

“I know people may feel hesitant in coming forward and be reticent to speak to police but if you do not feel comfortable talking to us directly you can provide information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers.”

Mark’s daughter Hannah is today (Thursday 14 November) urging those who have not yet spoken to police and may have information to get in touch and help detectives find the person who cruelly took her dad away.

She said: “This has been a humungous shock for everybody because we have lost someone who is really special to us.

“With Christmas coming up it is harder than ever to think there is someone out there who has taken my dad away. They will be enjoying Christmas while we as a family don’t get the opportunity to celebrate it.

“I really want to emphasise to people that even if they think their knowledge might be minor, or what they know or might have seen will have no impact on the investigation, you really never know. It could be the key to us getting the answers we desperately need.

“If you feel it is hard to speak up, please know that it’s so much harder for us having to deal with losing him. Any bit of hope you could offer to me, my family and close friends of my dad will be greatly appreciated by everyone.

“There has to be some justice. It’s not fair.”

A 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains on conditional bail.
