THE 18-year-old man who was taken to hospital after becoming ill at the Creamfields Festival, near Warrington, appears to be recovering.
Originally described as “critical” he has now recovered sufficiently to be moved from Warrington Hospital to a hospital nearer to his home at Blackpool.
He was one of two men taken ill at the music festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The other, a 19-year-old from Warrington, tragically died.
Both men were checked by a doctor at a medical facility at Creamfields before being taken to hospital.
Cheshire Police have investigated the death and the facts are being reported to the coroner.
Police are working with the festival organisers to investigate both incidents to see what action can be taken to avoid future tragedies.
They stress that the vast majority of people who attended the event enjoyed the experience safely and within the law.
But 37 people were arrested and a further 59 are being investigated with regard to alleged offences at the festival.
Sixty eight people were questioned in connection with alleged drugs offences and faced the possibility of significant sentences, including jail.
