A MAN found unconscious after a suspected arson attack on a flat at Warrington earlier this week is now said to be “critical” in hospital.
Fire crews went to the flat Whitecross Road late on Tuesday night and found the man and a dog unconscious in the smoke filled property – as reported by Warrington-Worldwide yesterday.
The dog, a Staffordshire Bull terrier named Ty, was treated by a vet and his condition is not now thought to be life-threatening.
Police say the man is now in a critical but stable condition.
They are appealing for information or footage from the public as the fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything that may help their investigation to come forward.
They also want to hear from anyone who believes they have CCTV footage that could be relevant to the investigation.
Anyone with information or CCTV footage that may help detectives with their investigation is asked to call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 509950, give the details via https://cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
