Sun shines on Stockton Heath Walking Day

GREY clouds cleared to ensure the sun shined down on the annual Stockton Heath Walking Day.

Following a short service on Alexandra Park local churches and schools walked through the village for the annual walk of witness.

This years parade was led by Stockton Heath Christian Fellowship.

Stockton Heath Walking Day takes place on the 2nd Saturday in July every year. It provides a great day in the community where the local churches and associated schools walk through the village of Stockton Heath. Accompanied by bands and music this “walk of witness” demonstrates the churches love for the community and their faith in Jesus.

The walk proceeded along Grappenhall Road into the village centre then through the village along London Road before turning left into Ellesmere Road, Francis Road and then back into the village centre along Walton Road.

Crowds of people from the community and local councillors, along with Mayor of Warrington Wendy Johnson and Warrington South MP Faisal Rashid, lined the streets to watch.
