DETECTIVES have launched an appeal for information after raiders smashed their way into a Woolston property while the owners were away, stealing various items including jewellery.

The break-in took place between 1.30pm on Sunday 19 May and 10am on Monday 20 May when offenders have smashed the back door of a house on Edward Gardens while the owners were away.

They then searched the home and stole items including jewellery.

The offenders have then left the area in an unknown direction.

Detective Sergeant Tom Hall, of Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “Firstly, I want to assure residents that we are doing everything we can to catch the people who committed this crime.

“To help with our investigation I want to ask the public to come forward with any information – no matter how small.

“Have you seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area before the burglary took place? Have you got CCTV or dashcam footage of any suspicious vehicles that might help identify the people responsible?
“I also want to hear from anyone who may have had people asking to do work on addresses perhaps involving guttering, driveways or gardening.

“If so then please call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 405931, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or email us via https://cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries.”
