RIXTON-with-Glazebrook Carnival, a family fun day out with attractions for all ages, will be held on the village green in Hollins Green on Saturday June 29 from 11am to 4pm.
A wide variety of events are already lined-up for the free-to-enter carnival – including for the first time ever, train rides provided by the Whitfield Light Railway.
All the family will be able to enjoy rides on the portable, narrow-gauge steam railway which wins fans at festivals and other events all over the country.
There will be music from Cadishead Band, Warrington Pipe Band and Radio Wishing Well, along with a variety of dances from Dance Rhythm, Warrington Wolves Fusion and Michele’s Z-style group.
Elsewhere on the green there will be revolutionary fun with Zorbs, a variety of birds of prey from Wild Wings, a rope bridge and hands on activities, including paint-a-pot.
For the young ones there will be a fairground ride, Raspberry Fields pony rides, an inflatable assault course, a treasure hunt and face painting.
There will be varied displays of vintage vehicles and machinery.
Local groups are also getting involved and they’ll be setting up stalls to entertain and inform. Local businesses will have their products for sale on the day, so there’s chance to grab a bargain.
Refreshments will be available, with a tea and cake tent, a sandwich stall, the Drunken Donkey gin stall, barbecues, ice cream and sweetie stalls.
A fun dog show will be run by Rixton Dog School
