WARRINGTON Wolves turned around a half-time deficit by scoring 38 unanswered second half points to beat Huddersfield 50-19.
Jeered off at the break after Oliver Russell’s drop goal sent the Giants in 19-12 to the good, the Wolves turned in a red hot after half time to secure the two points.
Bryson Goodwin and Blake Austin scored a brace apiece as the hosts scored six tries to add to the two in the first half.
It looked being a routine afternoon for Steve Price’s men after the first half hour, when they led 12-0 through tries from Ben Currie and Chris Hill.
But Huddersfield turned the game on its head before half time, converted tries from Louis Senior, Darnell McIntosh and Alex Mellor inside six minutes put them in front.
Goodwin’s first try came four minutes in to the second half and that settled the nerves around the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Stefan Ratchford’s conversion and then a penalty putting Wolves back in front at 20-19.
Back-to-back tries from Austin and Daryl Clark then gave the Wolves a cushion and they didn’t look back.
Ben Murdoch-Masila’s try late on put the icing on the cake and Ratchford tagged on a last minute penalty to bring up the half century.
