UTC Warrington launches myth busting advertising campaign

UTC Warrington has launched a new advertising campaign aimed at shattering some of the common myths that have built up around University Technical Colleges.

The myth busting campaign features images of some UTC Warrington’s students, those either still studying or who have recently joined apprentice schemes, all with different multi-national companies based in Warrington. The images are juxtaposed against some of the comments that have been levied at UTC’s across the country.

The idea behind the campaign is to demonstrate the reality of the opportunities students currently have and what those attending UTC Warrington have achieved. The overarching message is that results for students at the college do not conform to some of the typical misconceptions that surround UTC’s and if students and parents want to find out what courses are on offer at UTC Warrington they can find out for themselves by joining one of the college tours or visiting the website to find out more.

UTC Warrington has a huge amount of positive support, but the perception of a UTC can still be misunderstood, this campaign seeks to address some of those views head on and demonstrate to both parents and students how successful students are and that they have a great future ahead on them.

Principal Lee Barber said: “UTC’s play a crucial role in providing industry with a talented local workforce, now more than ever; especially with the uncertainty of Brexit looming it’s vital for education providers to foster strong links with employers. Here at UTC Warrington students benefit from a broad education; absolutely focused on growing the talent pipeline for industry, not only plugging the skills gap in Engineering, Cyber Security and Applied Science but also for careers such as HR and Project Management.”

The campaign has started utilising various outdoor sites across Warrington town centre and will continue throughout May and June via warrington-worldwide website and magazine and through social media channels.
