THREE men from the Culcheth and Croft area to take part in the arduous Ironman race in Lanzarote on May 25 in aid of Warrington’s St Rocco’s Hospice.
They are Mike Sims, aged 53, of Croft, owner of the Urban Contracting Group, Peter Marshall, aged 40 of Culcheth, a self-employed sliding door specialist and landscape gardener Mark Richards, aged 51, from Croft.
Mike lost his wife to cancer in February 2016 and she spent her final days in St Rocco’s.
Since then, the three friends have raised funds for the hospice with an evening in Culcheth British Legion, a two person Dryathlon and two of them did the Chester Marathon in 2017.
Mike said: “However, the Lanzarote Ironman will be bar far the biggest physical effort any of us has undertaken.”
