Woman jailed for assaulting police and racial abuse

A Warrington woman has been jailed for 17 weeks following a number of police assaults and racial abuse public order offences.

Ellie Morris (25) of Buckton Street, Warrington received the custodial sentence for several police assaults and other Racially Aggravated Public Order offences.

On November 17, she kicked an officer in the leg whilst she was in the process of being detained for a Drugs Search on Winmarleigh Street in the town centre.

The on December 4, she was arrested for verbally abusing passers by outside Warrington Central Station.

During her arrest she assaulted one officer and racially abused two others. While resisting arrest she also verbally abused a Detention Officer.

She appeared in court today and was given a sentence of 17 weeks.
