LYMM English tutor Wendy Hulme has received an award from the Joint Council for Qualifications for her services to examining.
Wendy, who runs Just English, said: “I have been an examiner and moderator for many years. It’s hard work but gives me a fantastic insight into the various English Language and Literature GCSE examinations which I can pass on to my students.”
Wendy also encourages young people locally to write.
This term Just English is promoting a non-fiction writing initiative, The Power of Pen.
“Some of my students have expressed feelings of being misunderstood by adults. I wanted to give them a platform to express their ideas in a constructive way which also happens to be excellent practice for the GCSE English Paper 2 writing task” said Wendy.
She congratulated the overall winner of a Dickensian Character Competition, Faith Holdsworth.
