27 fewer firearms on the streets of Cheshire

THERE are now 27 fewer firearms on the streets of Cheshire thanks to the National Firearms surrender.

This means there are 27 less opportunities for fire arms to get into the wrong hands and be used for criminal activities.

The majority of guns handed in so far have been war trophies and licensed firearms that are no longer used. All of the weapons will now be decommissioned and destroyed. Any items which may hold historical value will be passed to museums.

The surrender will remain open until Sunday November 26, so there’s still plenty of time to hand in any unwanted firearms or ammunition.
