SARAH Ward, author of the DC Childs crime series, will visit two libraries in Warrington next month.

Her appearance at Lymm and Woolston libraries on Wednesday 4 October will mark the release of her latest novel, A Patient Fury.

Sarah will give readers an exclusive insight into the deadly fire that inspired the novel, as well as talking about the mysteries of the Derbyshire Perk District – where her first two novels, A Deadly Thaw and In Bitter Chill, are set.

She’ll also talk about the popularity of crime novels and what attracts us to the darkest deeds.

Her debut novel, In Bitter Chill, was described by the Daily Mail as “tense, well-told story of loss and family secrets”.

Her second book, A Deadly Thaw, was called “relentless in its grip” by the Financial Times.

Sarah is a huge thriller fan herself; she reviews crime fiction novels for a number of publications and is a judge for The Petrona Award for the best Scandinavian crime novel.

To coincide with her visit to Warrington, her novel, A Deadly Thaw, will feature as LiveWire’s book of the month later this year.

Tickets for both author talks are priced at just £2 and are available from any LiveWire library. There are limited tickets for the event, so book early to avoid disappointment.
