THREE Warrington-based teams have been named as finalists in the Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Bridgewater) Staff Awards which are taking place today at Haydock Park Racecourse.
The Electronic Patient Record Programme Team and the IT Emergency Response Team both based in Birchwood are finalists in the Team of the Year Award category and The Enhanced Care Home Support Team based at Woolston Clinic is a finalist in The Outstanding Contribution to Research and Innovation Award category.
The Electronic Patient Record Programme Team has been nominated for
demonstrating tenacity, professionalism and a “can do” approach to managing one of the largest roll outs of electronic patient records systems in the country. As a result of their hard work, 1,000 frontline clinicians across Bridgewater now use mobile electronic patient records rather than traditional paper based patient records which ensures every
patient record is instantly updated and easily available to all relevant clinicians who need to access it.
The IT Emergency Response Team is nominated for their swift and professional response to the cyber attack which hit the NHS nationally earlier this year. The team worked tremendously hard and put in extremely long hours to ensure the attack caused as little impact on Bridgewater services and patients as possible.
The Enhanced Care Home Support Team based at Woolston Clinic has been
nominated for providing an innovative service supporting frail and elderly residents in care homes across Warrington. The team consists of a GP, Pharmacist, Community Matron as well as several community and specialist nurses. As many care home residents have multiple conditions, they ensure that every resident’s care is well co-ordinated so all their health needs are being met.
Colin Scales, chief executive for Bridgewater said: “The Bridgewater Staff Awards provide a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on
some of our hard-working colleagues and their inspirational achievements over the past 12 months.
“Our clinical staff which include nurses, physiotherapists, podiatrists, health visitors and others go above and beyond every day to provide high quality patient care in clinics, health centres, schools, patients’ homes and other local venues. By looking after the health and wellbeing of people in our communities, they play a vital role in helping to keep vulnerable people well, independent and out of hospital.
“The awards are also a chance to celebrate the efforts of our non-clinical staff such as our administrators and receptionists and staff in our IT and estates teams. They are the backbone of the organisation supporting clinical staff to do their job as effectively as possible.
“I am very proud of our Warrington based workforce and I am looking forward to thanking them for their hard work and dedication over the past year at the awards and celebrating their accomplishments.”
