VIDEO: THE annual Latchford Duck Race attracted large crowds to the banks of the River Mersey at Warrington Rowing Club, helping raise funds for local youngster Cameron Smith.

The profit from the race and any donations will go to support Cameron, a local eight-year old boy who has multiple disabilities.

His family are fundraising in order to buy a specially adapted bike to enable him to go on rides with his siblings and they also wish to purchase specialised mobile seating for him.

Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Cllr Les and Mrs Gwyn Morgan, were special guests at the annual event organised by Latchford Community Association and supported by the Latch Ford Big Local Partnership and was the culmination of 10 days of various events and activities in the area.

The Corporate Duck Challenge was won by LiveWire, with JD Kitchens coming second and the Co-op third. This was followed by 1,000 rubber ducks being tipped into the River Mersey, each one being sold for £1 to help raise funds for eight-year-old Cameron.

Also in attendance were the team from Radio Warrington to compere the event.
