Culcheth Library rescue campaign gathers momentum

TWO drop-in sessions are to be held at Culcheth Library to encourage local residents to join the fight to keep the library open.

The first is on Saturday, August 12 and the second on Saturday, September 2, both between 10am and 12 noon.

Members of the public will be able to meet the campaign organisers and lend their support and expertise to the campaign to keep the library open and develop its potential as a community resource.

Since the library was threatened with closure last year, a working party of local councillors and residents has been working hard to keep the facility open in its current location in the centre of the village.

They are now launching the “Friends of Culcheth Library” campaign to open up the campaign to the wider community.

Over the next few weeks, information leaflets about how to get involved are to be distributed to homes in Culcheth Glazebury and Croft.
