VIDEO: WARRINGTON Disability Partnership have despatched their first lorry load of relief to help disabled people in Egypt.
Working in partnership with the St Mark Universal Copts Care services in Cairo, the container includes various items of disability equipment which have been donated to the new Phoenix Project.
Many of the items are new, while others have been refurbished by the charity’s trading arm, Warrington Disability Trading Services.
WDP Chairman Dave Thompson said: “Our Phoenix project will make a difference to the lives of thousands of disabled people. This is our first container and we hope to be able to send one a month.”
The wholesale value of items sent in the first cotainer is believed to be around £37,000.
Volunteers from Warrington Rotary Club helped load the vehicle.
