A £1,000 prize awaits the winner of this year’s Warrington’s Got Talent competition.
The contest has a new sponsor – Taylor Business Park – and they have offered £1,000 for the winner.
Warrington’s Got Talent is the Mayor of Warrington’s search for the borough’s most gifted individuals. It is open to anyone of any age with any kind of talent – from fire eaters to acrobats, from dancers to divas and from impressionists to animal acts.
Mayor Faisal Rashid is encouraging everyone with a talent – from children to senior citizens – to enter and be in with a chance of getting their hands on the cash prize.
He said: “We want this contest to be a real showcase of all the talent that exists in Warrington. It doesn’t matter what age you are – if you’ve got a talent, we want to see it.
“So if you’ve got an amazing act, get your video uploaded – and make sure you don’t miss out on your chance to win £1,000.”
To enter, simply record a video of you performing your talent, and upload it to www.Facebook.com/WarringtonsGotTalent
Alternatively, send a link to a place where the council can download it such as a video sharing site like Dropbox.
Anyone unable to put their talent online can drop off a USB memory stick with their video on it t the Town Hall, Sankey Street, with all of their contact details (name, address, phone number and email) and mark it “Warrington’s Got Talent”.
The public will be invited to vote for their favourite acts on the Facebook page. This will feed into the final decisions and the 20 lucky finalists will be invited to perform in front of the Mayor and his team of surprise judges, in The Grand Final at Parr Hall on February 24.
Shortlisted finalists will have first option on tickets for finals night. And they will want to get as many friends and family down to Parr Hall as possible, as the audience vote will count towards 50 per cent of the final result.
All money raised through the competition will go towards the Mayor’s Charity Appeal. Plans are also being considered for Warrington’s winner or winners to go head-to-head with the winners of Halton’s Got Talent winners – to prove who’s really the best.

  1. I am sure there are many talented people in Warrington but if they have any intelligence they will not submit their work to be judged by the sort of people who inhabit Facebook
