ARTISTS and photographers are now being invited to enter this year’s Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival open exhibitions.
Competitors living or working within a 50-mile radius of the town can submit up to three works, submissions are now open online and the deadline for entries is Friday August 26, ahead of the festival itself which launches on Friday September 30 and runs until Saturday October 29.
Now in its sixth year, the month-long festival provides an opportunity for people to engage with and experience contemporary art and the 2016 programme includes live performances, exhibitions, talks and tours, including the flagship art and photography
open exhibitions.
For both exhibitions, the first prize is £250 plus a solo exhibition in next year, while second prize is £100.
Building on the success of previous years, the Contemporary Open will be hosted by Warrington Museum and Art Gallery while the Photography Open will be on show in The Gallery at Bank Quay House.
