Top beautician and glassblower named in Queen’s Birthday Honours

A top beautician and an award-winning glassblower from Warrington, have been named in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Former Warrington Collegiate student Rianne Chester and Paul Le Pinnet, chief scientific glassblower at Runcorn-based SOG Ltd received their honours as part of Queen Elizabeth IIs 90th birthday celebrations.

Rianne, who receives a BEM celebrated at the double at the WorldSkills International competition in São Paulo, Brazil, last year after taking a gold medal for Beauty therapy.

She also gained the illustrious Albert Vidal medal which recognises the best of best, the first time the UK has ever won the prize.

Mr Le Pinnet is renowned for his ability to mould molten glass into intricate shapes.

The 71-year-old grandfather received an MBE for his services to British scientific glassblowing.
