TWO burglars crashed a stolen car after an audacious late night raid on a house at Warrington.
The pair forced their way into a house in Canterbury Street, Latchford after the occupant answered the door just after midnight on Tuesday.
They grabbed property, including a laptop computer, mobile phones and cash – and also took the keys to the occupants Citroen Saxo car which they then used to make their getaway.
But it seems they crashed the car shortly afterwards. It was found abandoned and badly damaged in Knutsford Road, near Black Bear Bridge, a short time later. It had collided with a lamp post.
Police say one of the raiders was about 6ft 3 inches tall, thin and in his 20s. He had a flat nose and stubble and was wearing a black tracksuit with red on the front.
The second man was about 5ft 3 inches tall, of slim build. He was wearing black clothing and his face was concealed by a black hockey mask.
Both men spoke with Liverpool accents.
The occupants of the house were not hurt but were left badly shaken.
Anyone with information about the raid is asked to call DC Stuart Eales on 0845 458 0000.
