Welcome end to a sorry saga at Lymm High School

0

IT has been a long time coming – but at long last the reasons behind the departure of former Lymm High School Principal Angela Walsh have been made public.

Having reported on the concerns of parents, pupils and former employees regarding Ms Walsh’s tenure at the school over a number of years – it would appear this reporting has now been vindicated.

I personally take no great pleasure from reporting on someone’s downfall in life.

But I have to say my own personal dealings with Ms Walsh were frosty to say the least – in fact I never had the opportunity to meet here. When I attempted to communicate with her she wouldn’t return my calls and when I wrote something she disagreed with she basically banned any future communication with our publication.

Times have moved on and we now have a fantastic working relationship with the school which started during the temporary tenure of Tarun Kapur and has now continued under the leadership of Head Teacher Gwyn Williams.

Although Miss Walsh deserves some credit for overseeing what was an “Outstanding” school, there is no doubt things did take a turn for the worse. Fortunately things have now turned around and the High School is once again the top performing school in the area.

It is certainly refreshing to be able to report on all the positive activities of the High School.

Any way the whole sorry saga has now hopefully been finally put to bed and everyone connected to Lymm High School can continue to look forward to a positive future.

To all of those former pupils, staff and concerned parents who contacted us over the years thank you for sharing your concerns and as always Lymm Life/warrington-worldwide will try and report on local issues in a fair and balanced way.

For anyone who may still be wondering why we are still reporting on this issue from the past – it attracted more interest on our website in the space of a day than any other story in the past two years – so the public interest is clearly still there.

It certainly completely over shadowed interest in the local elections!
