New, improved hub plans approved

REVISED proposals for the neighbourhood hub to serve the Bewsey and Dallam area of Warrington have been approved by the borough council’s development management committee.
The original plan was approved back in February – but new, improved proposals have now been given the green light.
Applicants LiveWire say the new proposals have been slightly amended to provide a more flexible and efficient build.
The facility is being developed thanks to £1 million of funding from Warrington Borough Council’s capital investment programme along with additional funding from housing provider Torus and neighbourhood wellbeing company LiveWire, and further opportunities have now arisen with other funders meaning a £2.4 million hub can now be developed.
The hub will provide a range of facilities to address health and wellbeing inequalities in the area including a hydro-therapy pool, fitness suite, smart library and rooms for community activities.
