Village's peaceful summer

POLICE believe Stockton Heath has had a “peaceful” summer with very little trouble.
Police Community Support Officer Peter Crellin told the parish council Stockton Heath Walking Day passed quietly with no trouble – other than Orchard Street residents ignoring parking restrictions.
Youth problems had also eased. Youngsters who gathered in Alexandra Park had behaved better.
“If they leave rubbish we make them tidy up. If they won’t, we make them go,” he said.
The village centre had also been quiet.
He said: “The problem youths seem to have grown up and moved on. This year they are nicer kids.
“The gangs are nowhere near the size they used to be.”
