House plan approved – despite objections

PLANS for a detached dwelling on the remaining part of the former Fourways NHS residential facility at the junction of Stainforth Close and Twiss Green Lane, Culcheth have been approved by borough planners – despite objections from local residents, Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council and local borough councillors Chris Vobe and Matt Smith.
Objectors claimed the house would be unacceptably prominent on the street scene, would involve the loss of mature trees and have a dangerous access onto a busy road.
But planners said the property would have a distinctive character and the proposals had been amended to remove concerns about trees.
