New Netto store set to open at Lymm

NETTO, the Scandinavian discounter, open their brand new store in Lymm next Thursday, (November 19) at 8am, bringing 20 jobs to the area.

The store built on the site of the former Rushgreen Road Service Station, has a product offer that combines the best of the low-price discount model with a unique Scandinavian twist.

The 12,000 sq ft store is the tenth store to be launched in the UK since the first store opened its doors in Leeds in November 2014 as part of a trial in a joint venture between Sainsbury’s and Dansk Supermarked, Netto’s parent company.

The store represents a complete departure from the format that left the UK market in 2010, with a fresh design based on the latest Netto stores in Denmark. The range of over 2,000 products has been created especially for UK customers to give a new kind of offer to the discount sector. In addition to these products, Netto offers 60 ‘Spot Deals’ – which means that when they’re gone, they’re gone – each week on food and non-food items.

The new Lymm store has an in-house bakery, which offers fresh Danish breads and traditional Danish pastries, including the Copenhagener (39p), a delicious almond and poppy seed pastry which is to the Danes what the croissant is to the French. Every day, fresh meat and produce is delivered to the store; all fresh meat is British and Netto offers seasonal British fruit and vegetables sourced at the highest quality for a great price.

Netto also has own-label brands that have been especially created for the UK market called ‘Premieur’ (high-end) and ‘Easy’ (everyday items), as well as established brands from Netto’s existing portfolio, such as, ‘Asian Kitchen’ and ‘Mex & Co’. The store will also offer around 100 of the most popular brands that people expect to buy in their weekly shop and stylish non-food products sourced from Denmark and around the world.

Morten Moberg Nielsen, Managing Director at Netto UK, comments:“We are excited to be opening a new store in Lymm and to become part of the local community. We look forward to welcoming new customers and to bring a taste of Scandinavia to the area. At Netto, we think that everyone should be able to buy nice things, in a nice shop, at a nice price.  People should come and have a look – I think they will be impressed.”

Kicking off the Spot Deals offer are:
•Microwave boxes, £1.00 each
•Barnards Hill Sauvignon Blanc, £3.99 per bottle
•El Aguila Roja Gran Reserva, £4.49 per bottle
•Pedigree in Gravy (12 x 400g), £4.00 per pack
•Whiskas Selection in Jelly (12 x 390g), £4.00 per pack

The grand opening kicks off at 8am where customers can enjoy free samples from Netto’s in-store bakery, live music from the Netto band, balloon modelling for the kids and a chance to meet Netto’s giant LEGO Scottie (the biggest LEGO dog in the world!).
