POLICE are investigating after an overturned boat was discovered in the Mersey off Knutsford Road, Warrington.
Firefighters were called to the river, just up from Howley Weir, last night after the overturned dinghy was spotted floating near the weir.
They launched an inflatable rescue boat to reach the dinghy and carried out a search of the area, on foot and with a thermal imaging camera.
No persons were found and the incident was handed over to the police.

that dingy has been there days I first saw it on sunday,it probably got washed down because there was a high tide last week so it could have come from anywhere along the mersey
