Storage buildings for re-vamped school

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington are being asked to approve proposals for two storage buildings at the former Green Lane special school, at Padgate.
The school is currently being remodelled and refurbished and is to re-open  at Woolston Brook Special School, taking staff and pupils from Grappenhall Hall School.
There will be about 64 boys and girls aged 11-16 attending, and there is also provision for eight primary aged pupils
The storage buildings are planned for a site at the rear of the school and will require the demolition of some existing brick buildings. They are required for the storage of sports equipment and special equipment such as canoes.
This will enable sports activities currently enjoyed at Grappenhall Hall School to continue on the new site.
The setting of nearby locally listed buildings will not be affected by the construction of the new buildings, planners say.
