UPDATED: TRAFFIC ground to a standstill in Warrington town centre today (Friday) due to emergency carriageway repairs.
The chaos started at Bridge Foot with traffic barely moving along Wilson Patten Street, Parker Street and Liverpool Road in either direction
Temporary traffic lights near the Crosfield works due to emergency carriageway repairs were the problem.
According to the AA, traffic was “moving slowly” in Warrington.
A council spokesperson said: “Emergency carriageway repairs were carried out but are now complete.
“”Works like this can happen without notifying the council prior, as long as they notify within two hour sof completion.”

So what actually happened then ? Did a big hole suddenly appear or something ?
No idea and no one will be around to ask now! But from my own personal observations it looked like general road resurfacing at a main artery into town in between two sets of traffic lights with a temporary set, set up in the middle!
If it wasn`t an emergency repair it should of been held off until after the Creamfields event.
