Council crackdown on speeding motorists

GRAPPENHALL and Thelwall Parish Council is cracking down on speeding motorists.
Following a proposal from Cllr Mike Biggin, the council has purchased two portable speed indicators at a total cost of £4,024 which will be positioned at various locations in Grappenhall and Thelwall to encourage motorists to keep within legal speed limits.
Council chairman Cllr Paul Wenlock is to co-ordinate a community speed watch group with local PCSO Alex Stacey.
Signs will be displayed and high visibility jackets worn by volunteers who are to attend training courses run by Cllr Wenlock.
They will work in pairs at various locations  including Stockport Road, Thelwall, Thelwall New Road, Grappenhall and the corner of Cliff Lane, Grappenhall.
