POLICE are appealing for information after £21,600 worth of mobile phones were stolen from the back of a lorry in the Warrington area.
Officers say 540 Athenz C-9 phones were taken, with the model number HTCX-7500, from the back of a lorry parked up at the back of 24 Kingsland Grange, Woolston.
The phones were on a pallet, which was split into 12 cartons, each containing 45 phones.
It is thought either a large vehicle and or a number of people would have had to be involved in the theft.
The driver was asleep in the front cabin of the lorry at the time and was unaware the crime was taking place.
It is thought the offence took place between 2am and 6.30am on the morning of April 2.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been offered one of the phones, knows of their whereabouts, or has any information on the incident, to contact PC Jordan Trentini on 0845 458 0000, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
