BIG-hearted banking staff across Warrington have given a cash boost of £26,724 to charity.
Workers from The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) including those from NatWest raised the cash through a Give as you Earn Scheme.
Among those to benefit were schools, hospitals, and youth groups.
Under the scheme staff are able to donate straight from their pay packets to a charity of their choice – and for every £1 donated RBS gives an additional £2.
Paul Fox, regional managing director for NatWest in the north, said: “Payroll giving is so successful with our teams because it’s such an easy and effective way to give to charities.
“The fact that we treble the amount given by staff encourages more to make donations. I am really proud that so many of our local teams donate not only their money but also their time to support local charities and good causes.”
NatWest North region has recently been named as the most charitable team in the whole of the RBS Group at the group chairman’s awards in recognition of its charity work.

Well it’s good to know that some of the money that RBS make from us poor people is going to a good cause.
I think it was the staff’s money – not that of the company
