CARING students from Warrington’s Priestley College are set to embark on a life-changing tip to Romania to help out in orphanages and hospitals.
Around 12 students studying on the Early Years and Health and Social Care courses will visit the EUs newest member in July.
Primarily based in the capital city of Bucharest, the group are hoping to brighten the lives of many youngsters up and down the country.
This is the second time a group representing the Loushers Lane college has visited the country, which is renowned for poor treatment of vulnerable youngsters.
In order to raise funds to buy toys and games to take with them, students held an on-campus raffle and tombola.
Tutor Lynda Bond said: “Overseas educational experiences are key to life at Priestley and having visited Romania last year, both myself and this current group of students are very keen to visit again, in the hope we can make a little difference.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the students who will soon be witnessing some very harsh realities. It gives them a more rounded experience of the profession that many of them will be entering at the end of their studies.”
