THREE men have been arrested after a total of 10 flats were evacuated following a blaze at Cavendish Court, Old, Hall, Warrington last night (Sunday).
Five fire engines and an hydraulic platform from Chester were in attendance to tackle a well-developed fire in a first floor flat.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one main jet to tackle the fire from the rear while crews also used a hose reel and a second main jet at the front of the premises.
The hydraulic platform was used as crews established a fire break to prevent it spreading further and to bring the fire under control.
Crews have now put the fire but were still at the scene this morning, damping down and checking the roofspace for hotspots.
A total of 10 flats were evacuated at the height of the blaze but it is expected that some residents will be allowed to return unless their property is
directly affected.
Three Warrington men aged 20,35, and 40 have been arrested on suspicion of arson.
