WARRINGTON Town went six points clear at the top of the league as they extended their unbeaten league run to 15 games with a 3-0 away victory at Farsley.
In a lively first half Warrington took their chances while the hosts squandered theirs as the Wire went in 3-0 up at the break thanks to goals from Chris Gahgan, (top) Craig Robinson and Scot Metcalfe.
Warrington’s defence stood firm in the second half with Robinson (pictured right) in particular outstanding.
Warrington opened the scoring after 15 minutes when a long clearance by keeper Josh Cook was headed on by Ben Wharton putting Gahgan in the clear to keep his cool and lob the keeper.
The home side responded forcing a couple of corners which included a goal line clearance.
But then on 30 minutes Warrington doubled their lead as a Metcalfe shot rebounded off a defender going out for a corner, with Robinson heading home during a goal mouth scramble.
Farsley responded hitting the cross bar but then Warrington hit the killer blow with a counter attack just before the break as Wharton set up Metcalfe to slot the ball home.
The home side went all out attack from the start of the first half forcing three consecutive corners in quick succession, but the Town defence, superbly marshalled by Robinson, held out to ensure a great victory against a side which started out third in the table before kick off.
Craig Robinson shows his delight at scoring.
