A STUDENT at Warrington’s Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School was named “Outstanding Young Person of the Year” at the National Voluntary Youth Services award ceremony in London.
Lauren Furnival was one of seven young people from the locally-based Canal Boat Adventure Project who were invited to the event as finalists.
Inspirational young people from across Great Britain were at the ceremony
The Canal Board team were namedas national winners in the social enterprise category and Lauren – the project’s lead young carer, was named as winner of the overall Outstanding Young Person’s Award.
The Canal Board Adventure Project provides holidays and other activities for disabled and disadvantaged children in the Warrington, Halton and St Helens areas including narrow boat trips on the Bridgewater Canal.
