ROAD closures to allow carriageway resurfacing to take place at Warrington have been put back to next month – and are expected to take a week longer.
Warrington Borough Council made an order on July 11 for temporary prohibition of driving on Carol Street and Park Avenue, off Knutsford Road.
The closure was due to have come into force on Monday July 29 for two weeks.
But the work has not started – and a new order has been made for the closure to take place from Monday, September 9 for three weeks.
Council chiefs say it is expected the closures will only operate between 9.30am and 3.30pm, when signs will be in place on site.
Alternative routes will be signposted.
Work is also due to start on Monday, August 12 on electricity main reinforcement which will require a temporary closure to traffic on Eastford Road.
The prohibition of driving is expected to last for four weeks.
Similar closures will come into force on the same day in Larkfield Avenue, Lambs Lane, Parkdale Road, Southdale Road, and Southdale Road, Woolston while network reinforcement works takes place.
This work is expected to last for seven weeks.
