Home extensions cause concern

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington are to visit a house where extensions are proposed after hearing the development might have an overbearing impact on a neighbouring property.
Members of the borough council’s planning committee decided to visit the property in Oakways, Appleton single storey side and rear extensions and a first floor bedroom extension are proposed.
Appleton Parish Council is concerned that the extension might result in a loss of privacy and light at the house next door.
There are also concerns over drainage issues in the area in the past.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved. They say it would not have an unacceptable impact on the street scene, highway safety nor neighbouring houses.
But councillors decided to visit the site before reaching a decision.
