REVISED plans for a major new development, including a supermarket, pub and drive-through coffee shop are to be put to Warrington planners.
The development – similar to one approved in March this year – involves the site of the former Fordton Leisure in Chiltern Road, Orford.
It is expected to provide about 100 new jobs.
Members of the borough’s planning committee will be told the original scheme involved a 1,418 sq metre supermarket, a drive-through coffee shop of 172 sq metres, a family pub/restaurant of 1,017 sq metres and two retail units of 186 sq metres.
The revised scheme will include one additional retail unit.
Fordton Leisure Centre, which was demolished following the opening of the new Orford Park Community Hub, was created in the 1980s by conversion of a former school built around 1930.
The new complex will front on to Winwick Road but will have a narrow strip of land to be landscaped and planted with trees between it and the road.
