WARRINGTON-based Platform Data Centres helped celebrate the achievements of local business leaders after sponsoring the Businesswoman of the Year award at the prestigious Warrington Chamber Plus Business Awards 2026.
The award was presented to Siobhan McCarroll, founder and director of Dunky’s Day Nurseries, by Carl Oates, Chief Communications Officer, Platform, during a packed celebration at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, as Warrington’s business community came together for an evening recognising enterprise, innovation and outstanding achievement.
Carl said: “Warrington has a proud history around industrialisation; innovation and resilience where business is concerned. Getting Warrington business owners and public sector leaders together in the same room to celebrate together was arguably the best aspect of Warrington Chamber Plus’s first business awards. Well done to all the winners and nominees on the night.”
The sold-out event was particularly special this year, with both Warrington Chamber Plus and Warrington Wolves celebrating their 150th anniversaries.
Platform was proud to support the awards, which shine a spotlight on the people and organisations helping Warrington to thrive, while recognising the contribution of women leading and growing successful businesses.
Siobhan’s award recognises her achievements in building Dunky’s Day Nurseries into an established, award-winning childcare and early years education provider.
Founded 20 years ago, the family-run business has grown from a single nursery into a group of seven nurseries and Forest School provision, employing more than 150 people and caring for nearly 700 children and families across Warrington and surrounding areas.
Siobhan began her career as a nursery nurse before progressing into management and eventually realising her ambition of establishing her own nursery group. Her journey reflects the determination, leadership and commitment to the local community celebrated by the awards.
Dunky’s operates nurseries across Warrington, Runcorn, Widnes and Frodsham, with its provision including a Forest School at Gulliver’s World. The business also supports The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, having raised more than £26,000 for the charity over five years.
The award is recognition not only of Siobhan’s personal achievements but also of the teams she has built and the important role the business plays in supporting local families and working parents.
