OLYMPIC rowers Graeme Thomas and Lucy Glover were given a guard of honour when they tied the knot at St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall, yesterday.
And what a sporting connection behind this special Warrington wedding.
Graeme is a three-time Olympian, having represented Team GB at Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, while Lucy is also an Olympian who represented Great Britain at Tokyo 2020 and has a strong connection with Warrington Rowing Club.
Lucy also has a special connection to Grappenhall itself – she was crowned St Wilfrid’s Rose Queen at the Grappenhall Walking Day in 2011, when she was just 12-years-old.
