A police helicopter was seen circling over Warrington town centre today after officers attempted to stop a car which then made off.
The helicopter attracted attention as it flew over the town on Friday afternoon, with residents reporting seeing the aircraft circling above the area.
Cheshire Police have confirmed that the incident began at around 12pm on Friday, September 4, when officers attempted to stop a car on Manchester Road, Warrington.
However, the vehicle failed to stop and drove away from officers.
The police helicopter was subsequently deployed to assist officers in searching for the vehicle.
Despite the aerial search, there was no trace of the car.
Police have not confirmed the circumstances surrounding why officers attempted to stop the vehicle.
Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.
