Warrington Wolves have confirmed Joe Philbin will leave the club at the end of this season, upon the expiry of his current contract.
His departure brings to a close a decorated 13-year career with his hometown club, having first joined the club’s pathway system in 2008.
After bursting onto the scene under Tony Smith in 2014 at just 19 years of age, Philbin has since made 259 appearances for the Wire.
He made his 250th appearance for the club earlier this season in a thumping 72-6 victory over Castleford Tigers.
He was also part of the Warrington side that defeated Brisbane Broncos 27-18 in the World Club Series in February 2017, before going on to feature in 27 of the club’s 33 matches that season.
In 2018, he played in the Challenge Cup final against Catalans Dragons at Wembley and the Super League Grand Final against Wigan Warriors at Old Trafford.
After scoring a crucial try in the semi-final, Philbin went on to score the opening try at Wembley in 2019 as Warrington stunned favourites St Helens to lift the Challenge Cup.
The Ireland and Great Britain international was awarded a testimonial in 2024 for ten years of service to the club.
Reflecting on his time at the Wire, Philbin said: “I really appreciate the support over the years, and I just want to thank the club for everything.
“I turned up to the club in 2008 as a kid with a dream and couldn’t have imagined all the things that I’ve got to experience.
“I’ve never took for granted how special it is to pull on that jersey and I am looking forward to finishing my time here strongly.”
Warrington Wolves have thanked Joe for his incredible contribution to the club and look forward to celebrating his achievements and recognising his service at the end of the season.
