Road closures for annual St Patrick’s Day Parade

A number of road closures will be in place this Sunday (March 15) for the annual St Patrick’s Day parade organised by Warrington Irish Club.

The closures will be in place from 10am to 12.30pm as the parade leaves the Irish Club on Orford Lane and will last for approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, stopping in Bridge Street for the Mayor Cllr. Mo Hussain, to lay a wreath and speak at the memorial of Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball who died as a result of the IRA bombings on March 20th 1993.
Several other Council Dignitries will be attending as usual including the leader and deputy leader of the council and the town’s two MPs.
The parade will be lead by Warrington Pipe band and the Nicola Robinson Irish Dance Academy.
The event is funded by the Irish Club.
Warrington Borough Council has made an order that on the occasion of the above mentioned event, no cart, carriage, motor car, lorry or other vehicle (excepting vehicles taking part in the event, Police, Ambulance and Fire Service vehicles and Mail Carts) and no horses or other animal be allowed to remain in or travel along or over any of the undermentioned streets between the hours of 10:00am and 12:30pm on Sunday 15th March 2026, for as long is required for the safe passage of the Parade when the appropriate temporary signs are displayed.

Scotland Road
Academy Street
Academy Way
Bridge Street

Bicycles and Tricycles are included in the term “vehicle” and must not be ridden through any of the above streets during the hours specified. Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the above order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.
Vehicular access to premises will only be permitted under the guidance of the organisers. Pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained.
