UP to nine weeks of road and footway closures are set to take place at Lymm and Thelwall for surfacing works, starting in May.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce the following:
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Entire lengths of road: Brook Road; Lymmhay Lane; Adey Road; Cuerdon Drive; Ferry Lane; Turnberry Close; Warburton Close; Part lengths of road: Woodlands Drive from the junction with Gatley Close to the junction with All Saints Drive; Howard Avenue from the junction with Oughtrington View to the end at the access Oughtrington Primary School; Oughtrington Crescent from the Bridgewater Canal Bridge to the junction with Stage Lane/Sandy Lane; Rushgreen Road from the junction with Whitefield Grove to the junction with Howard Avenue; Weaste Lane from the junction with Halfacre Lane east for 250 metres; Whitbarrow Road from the junction with Star Lane to the junction with The Poplars; Wilson Close from the junction with Woodland Drive to the Northeastern end.
The Order will be effective from 4th May 2026 for 9 weeks, between 8:30am and 5:30pm, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be as follows: Oughtrington Crescent via Oughtrington Lane, Higher Lane, Burford Lane, Stage Lane and vice versa; Weaste Lane via Cliff Lane, Knutsford Road, Stockport Road, Camsley Lane, Massey Brook Lane and vice versa. The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.
