A local financial planning firm is helping transform opportunities for young people in Warrington, after its sponsorship enabled Broomfields Youth Project (BYP) to welcome two new interns this year.
Work to Live Financial Planning, one of BYP’s key sponsors, has directly contributed to expanding the project’s reach, impact and day-to-day capacity. With the additional team members on board, BYP has been able to strengthen existing partnerships while also developing new ones across the community.
One of the biggest benefits has been the ability to support Mary Magdalene’s Church through its weekly Hangout Hub, which runs every Tuesday for young people in Years 7–11. BYP says that without the sponsorship, offering regular support at the hub would not have been possible.
The funding has also allowed the project to build even more of a presence at Bridgewater High School, where BYP already delivers lunchtime and after-school drop-in sessions. Thanks to the larger team, staff can now run more group sessions focused on self-esteem, anxiety, emotional wellbeing and other key areas impacting young people.
Professional development has also seen a boost. With additional staff covering day-to-day commitments, the BYP team has been able to take on more CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training, meaning they can now offer an increased number of one-to-one sessions within schools.
The growing team hasn’t just expanded BYP’s on-the-ground work — it has also increased its online presence. The project has recently launched a TikTok page, @broomfieldsyouthproject, sharing daily updates, activities and interactions to give the community a closer look at what BYP does.
Looking ahead, the interns are playing a key role in planning fundraising events for the summer term, while the extra staffing has already opened the door for more trip opportunities for local young people.
\BYP says the support from Work to Live Financial Planning has made a tangible difference to what the project can offer.
With more hands on deck and new ideas in motion, the organisation is set to provide wider, more meaningful support to young people across Warrington throughout the year.
