WARRINGTON-based four-piece indie rock band Red Light Racers are delighted to announce the release of their first snigle “Impatient.”

Members Dylan Rodrigues (24, rhythm guitar, lead vocals), Ellis Morley (19, lead guitar), James Matthews (25, bassist) and Rhys Craven (22, drums) worked together to write their own parts to this song and many more that singer Dylan had written.

After becoming comfortable with each others playing styles and agreeing on what sounds best to them, the band decided to move a step forward, to start gigging together with their debut gig at Shipping Forecast (Liverpool) in October last year, following that up with their debut headline gig at Jacaranda (Liverpool) on 29th November.
This year the band progressed further with recording their latest release “Impatient” at Matchbox Studios. Their plans for the future are to record the rest of their songs, play more gigs and keep releasing new music and keep having a blast along the way.
Dylan was a solo artist in Warrington, who has always had the passion for writing songs and performing. He had never played in a band before Red Light Racers so the process of playing with other people was new to him, a challenge that he welcomed and rose to. He found himself in a room with Rhys, Ellis and James. The perfect balance of chaos and beauty echoed around them, and Dylan felt it was time to share his songs with them. He strives to be up there with the greats, but at the end of the day if he could make a living by just playing and sharing his music, and keep releasing music, that in itself would be a dream come true. Ellis grew up surrounded by music and at 7-years-old he started to play the drums, taught by his father who is a keen musician and drummer. Ever since then, he’s had a passion for music. He picked up a guitar for the first time a few years ago and has been committed ever since. He met the rest of the band at a local open mic night in Warrington and it went from there.
James Matthews, AKA Jimmy Root Note, is the bass player for Red Light Racers. He got his nickname from his phobia of 5ths and octives, he does what he can but is widely recognised as the weakest link in the band. Some say he’s only there because of his hair and dashing good looks because it’s definitely not his bass playing that got him there. Rhys, an old university friend of Dylan’s, joined the band in mid-2025 after Dylan mentioned a vacancy in the lineup. He had been in bands before but this was a whole new style of music than he was used to. It took a few rehearsal sessions for him to play quieter and get a feel for the sound we wanted to make, but after that, it started to flow naturally. Within a handful of sessions, a common ground had been established and the writing began.
